RIGHT Care Team

RIGHT (Rapid Integrated Group Healthcare Team) Care is a partnership between Parkland Health’s Behavioral Health department, the City of Dallas, and the North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA). Together these agencies respond to mental health 911 calls. The teams include a patrol officer from Dallas Police Department, a paramedic from Dallas Fire-Rescue, and a licensed social worker from Parkland Health. This team responds in real-time to mental health 911 calls with additional support from mental health clinicians in the 911 Call Center.

The Purpose

The purpose of RIGHT Care is to connect citizens in the City of Dallas to mental health resources, avoid taking patients to busy ERs unless there is a medical need, to help people with mental health needs get help instead of being taken to jail and to provide a healthcare response to a healthcare issue. Whether it’s connecting patients to mental health services with same-day appointment options, resolving social needs of our citizens, or keeping people out of ERs or jails, which are already overwhelmed, the RIGHT Care team partners with community agencies to help citizens receive the services they need.

Operations

RIGHT Care Team has teams operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
